This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the 3rd Annual One Stop Shop Producer Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. For those of you who have checked out the site before may have noticed One Stop Shop (OSS) was on my calendar of industry events for the last 6 months. All I have to say is AMAZING! The conference was an absolute wonderland. I met so many dedicated and motivated musicians and business people, I had butterflies all weekend. Of course I had my business cards ready to pass out, I thought I was going to run out, so I brought HUNDREDS of business cards (close to 1000 just in case!) :) If I did not take anything else away from the conference, the one thing I did take away was the fact that musicians and designers (graphic or web) absolutely need one another, I repeat... musicians and designers absolutely need one another! I'm not just saying that because I'm a designer and music marketing professional, I'm saying that because in the entertainment business visual image is top priority, ask Susan Boyle and her crew about that.
On day 1, the conference kicked off with the Visual Image panel. This was up my alley as this is what I stress the most to artists, and it seemed as though everything I stress came full circle and all of a sudden I had a crowd in agreement, just to know everything is not in vain. Then there was the Viral panel which was basically internet music marketing 101. The key points stressed in the panel was consistency! With any and everything you do you must stay consistent, including your internet marketing. I'm happy to announce that after nearly 2 years of working with F Major on his video campaign he is now recognized at many industry events simply because of his YouTube videos, amazing!
Day 2 held more information geared toward producers with the A&R/Management panel, Producers Panel, Power Players panel and of course the all important beat battle. I was on an adrenaline rush the entire weekend. Finally, I leave you with my finished video...
